Opta (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a U.S.-based business unit of Tiburon Media Group, LLC that provides lead routing and campaign operations tools for business customers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information through our public website (opta.io), the Opta platform, our marketing activities, and account-level interactions.
If your personal information has been submitted to Opta by one of our customers as part of their lead data, please refer to that organization’s privacy policy. We process lead data on behalf of our customers and do not control how they collect, use, or share it. See Section 5 for details.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information in connection with our website, our platform, and direct communications with you.
Website Data:
- Contact Information — name, email address, phone number, company name (e.g., when you fill out a form or request a demo)
- Website Usage Data — IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring URLs
- Cookie and Tracking Data — data collected by analytics and advertising tools (see Section 3)
- Visitor Identification Data — we use technology that may identify anonymous website visitors by matching browsing activity to professional identity information from third-party databases (see Section 3)
Platform Data:
- Account Information — login credentials, billing contacts, user roles, company name
- Platform Usage Data — feature usage, session activity, page views, and interaction data collected through analytics and session recording tools (see Section 3)
Marketing and Communication Data:
- Email preferences, event registrations, responses to campaigns
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information or data related to children under 13.

3. Cookies, Tracking, and Visitor Identification
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website and within our platform.
Website Tracking:
- Analytics: Google Analytics (site traffic and behavior)
- Advertising: Meta Pixel (ad performance and retargeting)
- Visitor Identification: RB2B or similar tools that identify anonymous website visitors by matching IP addresses and browsing activity to professional identity data from third-party sources. This means we may learn your name, email, company, and job title from your visit even if you do not fill out a form.
Platform Tracking:
- Session Recording: We may use tools such as Microsoft Clarity or Hotjar to record session activity within the Opta platform. These tools capture clicks, scrolls, page views, and interactions to help us improve the product. Session recordings may capture on-screen content. These tools do not intentionally capture passwords or payment information.
- Product Analytics: We collect usage data such as feature adoption, navigation paths, and error events to improve platform performance and user experience.
Your Choices:
- Cookie Settings: You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
- Do Not Sell or Share: California residents can opt out of the sharing of personal information for advertising purposes. See Section 7.

4. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration.
We share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising, which qualifies as “sharing” under the California Consumer Privacy Act. Specifically, we transmit website visitor data to advertising platforms such as Meta for retargeting and campaign measurement purposes.
We may also share limited data with:
- Service Providers — web hosting, analytics, CRM, session recording, and product analytics tools that process data on our behalf
- Advertising Platforms — to support retargeting and campaign performance measurement
- Visitor Identification Providers — to identify anonymous website visitors for sales outreach
- Legal Authorities — when required by law or to protect our rights
- Business Successors — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
All third parties are subject to contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations.
5. Customer Lead Data (Platform Use)
When customers use the Opta platform to manage or route lead data, we act as a data processor on their behalf. This data is stored temporarily, transmitted securely, and may be logged to ensure reliable delivery. We do not access, analyze, or use customer lead data for any purpose other than providing the service.
Lead data is governed by the customer’s privacy policy and our Terms of Service and Data Processing Agreement.
This section does not apply to the platform usage data and session recording data described in Sections 1 and 3, which we collect as a data controller to operate and improve our platform.

To exercise any privacy rights, contact support@opta.io. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
8. Data Security and Retention
We apply security measures consistent with SOC 2 standards, including:
- Encryption in transit and at rest
- Access controls and monitoring
- Incident response procedures
We retain personal data according to the retention periods listed in the table in Section 6. You may request deletion of your information at any time.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law or business practices. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and post a notice on our website.
