Opta is a B2B SaaS platform that helps home improvement contractors protect marketing spend, book more appointments, and save time by blocking low-quality leads. We’re a small, fast-growing team serving contractors in roofing, siding, windows, gutters, bathroom, kitchen, and more.

The Role

We’re hiring a full-cycle Account Executive to source new business and close it. You’ll own the sales process from first touch to signed agreement: working inbound leads, sourcing new opportunities, running demos, and building pipeline.

This is a ground-floor opportunity. You’ll be the first dedicated sales hires, reporting directly to the cofounders with significant autonomy and uncapped earning potential. For the right person, this role grows into sales leadership.

Your #1 Outcome

Build predictable new revenue by consistently creating pipeline (inbound + outbound) and closing new contractor customers through a clear, ROI-driven sales motion.

Responsibilities

  • Work inbound leads and convert qualified opportunities into customers
  • Source new deals via cold calling, email outreach, referral partners, and targeted prospecting
  • Run tight discovery and product demos that show contractors exactly how Opta solves their problems (protect spend, book more, save time)
  • Drive multi-touch follow-up and next steps with urgency and professionalism
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, notes, and next steps in HubSpot
  • Attend trade shows and industry events to build relationships and generate opportunities
  • Collaborate directly with the founders on messaging, objections, and improving the sales process (scripts, talk tracks, follow-up sequences)

What We’re Looking For

  • 2-5 years in sales at a B2B SaaS company or equivalent experience selling to contractors / working in contractor operations
  • Experience selling to SMB owner/operators (phone-first, practical buyers)
  • Proven ability to generate pipeline (not just “close what marketing gives you”)
  • Strong written and verbal communication; you can explain value simply and clearly
  • High ownership: you don’t wait to be told what to do next
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and building from scratch
  • Willing to work US hours

Nice to Have

  • Experience in home improvement, home services, or lead gen / martech
  • Early sales hire experience at a startup
  • Existing relationships in the home improvement ecosystem
  • HubSpot proficiency (or similar CRM)

What Success Looks Like at 90 Days

  • You’re running the full sales cycle end-to-end with minimal oversight
  • You can consistently articulate Opta’s ROI in contractor language and handle core objections
  • Your HubSpot pipeline is clean enough that leadership can trust it
  • You’ve helped turn what works into a more repeatable process (talk track, follow-ups, qualification)
